Rubber Printing Plates

To create a traditional rubber printing plate, an engraving is created first, by exposing a metal plate to a negative and processing the exposed plate in an acid bath. A matrix board is then pressed against the engraving under controlled temperature and pressure. The board then becomes a master, Rubber plates are created by using the same temperature and pressure methods. Rubber plates have been a standard in corrugated printing and the industry as a whole for many years and are still used today. Rubber plates have the benefit of being flexible and resistant to the corrosive affects from different ink formulas. Another benefit from rubber plates is their economic value. It is true that the initial cost of creating a rubber plate may be higher than the cost of its photopolymer cousin. However, customer’s who have cost conscious clients that repeatedly reorder the same print will realize their return on investment both in the short and long term. Both you and your customer will have the peace of mind knowing that the manufacturing process in creating a rubber plate is closely monitored from beginning to end. Accu-Graphics, Inc. manufactures many kinds of Rubber Printing Plates including Natural Rubber printing plates, Synthetic Rubber printing plates, Blue PVC ptrinting printing plates and printing plates in varying thickness.
