To create a traditional rubber printing plate, an engraving is created first, by exposing a metal plate to a negative and processing the exposed plate in an acid bath. A matrix board is then pressed against the engraving under controlled temperature and pressure. The board then becomes a master, Rubber plates are created by using the same temperature and pressure methods.
